Cofounder: Travis Bonick

I was immersed in the arts from day one, not only was I creative, but my parents are as well. My earliest memories are dressing up as a character, such as Jeff Goldbloom’s big Bad Wolf, Batman, gargoyles, the big bad wolf. The list goes on. My mother, father and I would listen to classical music send Bob Marley on warm Texas summer sunshine Saturday mornings as I would be painting and dressing up in character while jamming out.

At age 4, I was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome. At age 34 it was realized it was a Miss diagnosis and I have autism. The 30 year gap was a brutal misdiagnosis and misunderstanding of who I am. It led to the most deleterious harmful treatment for me and the wrong medication. It almost took my life numerous times.

It wasn’t until I got back to Art in a serious way of just making it not to try to prove a point or to try to be good but just to make it that my brain and body started re-engaging in the right way and I reconnected to myself and was able to get off of the harmful medication. And be free to live my life to the fullest and happiest.

Artgratia is a call to action, for all of us to reconnect to our true selves our destiny’s, so we can be our best and brightest selves.
